Getting around Holguin, Cuba

Holguin is a safe place to walk around during the day and evening, we have never experienced problems during the night but we recommend you take a cab at night. Still walking is the best way to get familiar with the streets and life of Holguin. If you stay in the center you will fine exploring the city by foot.

Bici-taxi or bici
One of my favorite means of transportation, there cheap (a couple of CUC), and you see Holguin flowing around of you. Before getting in tell them were you want to go and fix the price.

There are two kind of taxis, state-owned which are yellow and private drivers. The state-owned have a taxi-meter and are more modern cars with a higher price (CUC 1,20/KM). Most of them are reasonably modern cars with airco. But if you want ride around in a classic car hire a private driver, there around every park, bar or restaurant. The don't carry a taxi-meter, so first tell them where you want to go and then fix the price.

Not for everybody, but our favorite way to get around. Quick, cheap, fuel efficient and no problems parking. You can hire them by day or for several days. The more days the cheaper the price.
Got to Frexes Y Miro at the back of restaurant 1720.
CUC 25 a day - rental period 1 day
CUC 20 a day - rental period 2/4 days
